"Liberty Column"
Sponsored by

The 'Column to Liberty' and statue were built in 1759 are a feature in some of Turner's paintings of the area from the 19th century. The column is 140 feet high and is topped by a 12 foot statue of British Liberty, which was originally covered in 66 blocks of gold leaf - what a sight it must have been glittering in the sunshine.

Bunkers and trees on right of fairway.
Can you spot the Column to Liberty in the distance?

Green from the right side
- 3 bunkers can be seen.

Golfer's Tip

Another shortish par 4 and this one is a dogleg to the right. The 'direct' route from the tee is protected by trees and 2 fairway bunkers - the ideal tee shot is down the middle of the fairway to the left of the bunkers which should leave a short iron into the green. There is a steep slope to the left of the green, and 2 sand-traps above the green to the right and another one at the front left.
