Named after its main feature which is likely to have originally been a parish or estate
boundary. The great age of this wall can be determined by its being held together by
lime mortar. Golfers should note that the wall is an integral part of the course under a Local Rule.

Golfer's Tip
This first hole is reputed to be one of the more difficult starting
holes in the region. A good straight tee shot from the enclosed tee
will leave you with a long iron shot into a 2 tier green protected
by bunkers to the right. Beware of the wall running all the way up
the left hand side of the fairway. A small extra flag attached to
the flagstick indicates that the hole is cut on the top tier.
